Christmas Wine Bags
Christmas wine bags do two jobs at once. They carry a bottle safely and they make it feel like a gift the moment it's handed over. That's the whole brief. Most buyers come to us with a theme, a color, or a deadline. The rest gets worked out in structure and material.
We make these bags in paper, felt, and leather. Foil, flocking, or printed finishes are all options. The category moves fast, so we keep the build simple where it matters: strong handles, a base that holds its shape, a bag that doesn't collapse when a bottle goes in. Shopping for holiday retail or corporate gifting? This is the page to start from. You'll also find box-and-bag sets on this site if you need a sturdier presentation.
How to choose
Start with the bottle. A standard 750 ml bottle is the default, but champagne and sparkling shapes are wider at the base and need more room. Tell us the bottle dimensions or send a sample, and we'll match the bag to it. That's the only way to avoid a bag that's too tight or too loose. Too tight tears at the seams. Too loose lets the bottle rattle.
Then think about how the bag will be handled. A retail shelf bag gets picked up, put down, and carried by the handle. A corporate gift bag might sit under a desk until the party. If it's going to be handled a lot, go with a heavier paper or a fabric like felt or leather. One-time gift? A lighter paper bag with a good insert is enough. But don't skimp on the handle. It's the first thing to fail on a paper bag.
Finish is where the Christmas part comes in. Gold or silver foil on red, green, or kraft paper is the classic look. Flocking gives a soft, velvety feel that photographs well. Want something more modern? A printed pattern on white or kraft paper with a ribbon handle works. We'll show you samples before you commit. Ordering for a specific holiday event? Tell us the date so we can schedule the run properly.
Buyer questions
Can you make Christmas wine bags with a specific bottle shape, like champagne?
Yes. Send us the bottle dimensions or a sample, and we'll adjust the bag and insert to fit. Champagne bottles are wider at the base and need a slightly different insert shape. We'll confirm the fit with a blank sample before printing.
What's the difference between a paper bag and a felt bag for Christmas gifting?
Paper bags are lighter and less expensive, and they print well with foil or full-color designs. Felt bags feel more premium and can be reused. Felt also hides minor scuffs better. If the bag is meant to be kept after the wine is gone, felt or leather is the better choice.
How do you keep the bottle from moving around inside the bag?
We use an insert that holds the bottle at four points, so it can't slide or tip. We also run a vibration simulation and a drop test with the bottle loaded before shipping. If there's any movement, we adjust the insert. It's a simple rule: no unsupported neck or shoulder.
What we control
We build the bag around the bottle. The insert is cut to hold the bottle at four points, so the neck and shoulder are never unsupported. Our control tolerance on the insert is plus or minus 1 mm. The bag body is held to plus or minus 2 mm. When a bag is assembled, we check that the corners sit at 90 degrees and the magnet or closure lines up within 1 mm if the design calls for one. Foldable bags? We check that the creases don't crack when the bag is opened.
Color is the other thing we watch closely. We match to Pantone references and approve a first article before the run. Black, deep blue, and burgundy are the hardest colors to hold, so we sample more often on those. Before anything ships, we run our in-house checks: a 1.2 m six-face drop test with the bottle loaded, a top load of 40 kg or more for 24 hours, and a vibration simulation to make sure the bottle doesn't move inside the bag. If the bag doesn't pass, it doesn't ship. Need a specific finish like foil or flocking? We'll test that too before the full run.
