Wine Carry Bags
A wine carry bag has one job the gift bag doesn't: it has to survive the second trip. Your buyer takes it home, keeps it in a cupboard, and pulls it out again for a dinner or a weekend away. So the handle attachment matters more than the print. A glued paper handle that looks fine on a shelf will lift off the bag once a full bottle swings in it. We build these bags around that swing, not around a photo.
This hub covers the reusable side of what we make: felt, washable kraft paper and leather-textured bags with real handles. Bottles are one per bag here. If you need a boxed set with a bag inside it, that lives on the box-and-bag pages instead. What follows is how the three materials wear, how we attach handles, and what we control on the machine before anything ships.
How to choose a carry bag
Start with the bottle, not the bag. A standard 750 ml Bordeaux and a wider Burgundy bottle do not sit the same way, and a sparkling bottle is heavier and taller again. Send us the bottle or its dimensions and we'll work the bag around it. If the bag is too loose, the bottle leans and the handle pulls sideways. Too tight and your buyer fights it every time they use it.
Then pick the material by how the bag gets used. Washable kraft paper takes spills and wipes clean, which suits kitchen and picnic buyers. Felt is soft, quiet and holds its shape, and it hides scuffs well. Leather-textured paper and faux leather look the most premium and photograph best, but they show creases at the fold lines over time. None of the three is wrong. They just age differently.
Handles are where cheap bags fail. Ask how the handle is attached: stitched through the body, riveted at the top edge, or a leather strap sewn into the seam. Stitching spreads the load across the bag wall. Rivets concentrate it, so they need a reinforced patch behind them. A snap closure keeps the neck from tipping out in a car boot, and it has to line up after the bag has been opened many times.
Buyer questions
Can the handle really take a full bottle?
That's the whole point of the category, so check it on the sample with your own bottle. Load it, carry it by the handles and set it down hard on its base. A handle that starts to lift at the seam, or a base that sags, fails, and the fix is in the attachment: stitching through the body, rivets with a reinforcing patch, or a strap sewn into the seam.
Which material should I pick for a retail program?
Washable kraft paper if the bag will meet spills and damp. Felt if you want softness and shape retention with a quieter look. Leather-textured or faux leather if shelf presence is the priority. Send your reference design and we'll match material to the use case rather than the other way around.
How do I get a quote and a sample?
Send the bottle dimensions or a bottle sample, a reference design, your quantity and any special requirements. We offer a blank sample so you can check the structure, and a printed sample so you can check the visual. Payment runs by T/T or PayPal, and shipping can go by air, sea or express.
What we control in production
Felt and washable kraft bags carry the bottle in the material itself, so the handle attachment and the base do the work: we look at where the handle joins the body and whether the base stays flat with the real bottle standing in it. Leather bags use a snap closure so the neck cannot tip out. Where a bag is sold as a set with a box, the box follows our board standard: gray board 1200 g minimum, 1400 g recommended for spirits, facing paper 157 g minimum, and no recycled gray board or high-moisture paper, because both go soft and wavy in a humid store room.
Colour is the other thing buyers push on. We match Pantone, approve a first article, then sample mid-run. Black, deep blue and burgundy are the hardest to hold, so those get the closest eye. Before a run, a printed sample lets you check the colour and a blank sample lets you check the structure, the fit and the handle with your own bottle.
