Vintage Foldable Cardboard Wine Box with Ribbon Handle
Unfold it flat, or open it once: this foldable cardboard wine box carries one bottle and doesn't pretend otherwise. Outside, a vintage wood-look texture. Inside, golden lining that catches the light. The box opens as double doors, so when someone lifts it the bottle is framed, not stuffed in a sleeve. A ribbon handle runs through the top. It's easy to carry to a car or a dinner table. And because it folds flat before assembly, you aren't paying to ship air. Wine shops use it for hand-sold bottles. It works for corporate gifts, wedding favors, and holiday sets too.
- Front panels that open like double doors. They separate from the center. When the box isn't in use, fold it flat for simpler storage and freight.
- An exterior printed to look like aged wood. The surface has a vintage wood-look texture. It's printed, not veneered, so you get a rustic premium feel without the weight or cost of a wooden box.
- A golden inner lining across the interior. It's a gold-toned surface, not raw cardboard edges. So the bottle doesn't sit against a dull or unfinished wall.
- A ribbon that threads through the top. This handle lets the box be carried like a small bag. At retail pickup or an event gift table, that's a practical touch.
- Rigid cardboard holding its shape. The panels don't crush easily under one-hand carry. They stay light because they're cardboard, not plywood or solid wood.

Customisation
The vintage wood print, the golden lining, and the ribbon handle can all be changed. Print your logo on the exterior, switch the lining color to match your brand, or swap the ribbon for a different shade. Debossing is possible if you want a tactile mark instead of a printed one. If you need a specific size for a wider bottle, send us the dimensions and we'll check whether the structure can be adjusted. Tell us your quantity and any deadline, and we'll work out what fits.
How the box is built
The body is rigid cardboard, not flimsy folding carton stock. It's cut and creased so the double-door panels hold their shape when closed. The vintage wood texture is printed across the exterior. Inside, a golden lining covers the walls and the base. The ribbon handle at the top isn't decorative; it's attached to take the weight of a full bottle.
Because this design folds flat rather than shipping as a glued box, crease quality is the first thing your recipient feels. We hold foldable boxes to tighter numbers: cracks at any fold line are rejected, and the erected corners sit at 90 degrees. Those rules stop doors from sagging or popping open on the shelf.
How the bottle fits
Size the box around one upright 750 ml bottle, a standard wine bottle. The golden lining stays smooth wherever a bottle enters or exits. But we don't rely on box walls alone to locate the bottle. Our internal rule says four points of contact. That means no unsupported neck or shoulder. On this design, a base insert or molded tray typically provides those four points. Our inspectors apply a shake test: 10 seconds of motion without any bottle movement. Then they tilt the assembly at a 45 degree angle and hold it. The bottle must not slide. Finally, they invert the box. The bottle must not release. If any check fails, we adjust the insert or the box dimensions until the bottle stays put.
Where it works best
Retail wine displays, corporate gifting, wedding favors, and holiday sets are the natural fits. On a countertop, the double doors and golden lining make the bottle feel like a presentation, not a pickup. That works when a store wants to hand-sell a single bottle without a bag. For corporate gifts, the vintage wood look reads as considered without being loud. Wedding favors benefit from the same: one bottle, one box, a ribbon handle for the guest to carry. Holiday sets work too, especially when the box is part of a larger gift arrangement. Skip it when you need crush-proof shipping for multiple bottles or a case-size carton; this is a single-bottle presentation piece, not a freight box.
Buyer questions
Can this box hold champagne or a wider bottle?
The box is designed for a standard 750 ml wine bottle. For champagne or a wider bottle, the interior dimensions may need adjustment. Send us your bottle's diameter and height, and we'll tell you if the structure can be modified. Don't guess on the fit; a bottle that's too wide will stress the doors and the ribbon handle.
Does the ribbon handle hold up over time?
The ribbon is attached to take the weight of a full bottle. It's not a decorative loop. During our in-house checks, we load the box with a bottle and carry it by the handle to confirm the attachment holds. If you plan to ship these boxes, tell us, because repeated lifting in transit is different from a single carry from store to car.
Will the vintage wood print scratch or fade?
The vintage wood look is printed directly on the cardboard. It's not a veneer, so there's no wood grain to scratch off. We check print quality at first article and during production, and we reject panels with obvious defects. But like any printed surface, it can show wear if it's rubbed hard against rough surfaces. For retail display, that's rarely an issue.
